In its cosy spot on the northern bank of the River Yare, the pretty village of Reedham is home to a variety of uniquely charming Suffolk sights, including the beautiful Reedham Swing Bridge and the Reedham ferry, both of which are a must-see for any fan of traditional British engineering. The village is home to the Ship Inn, the Lord Nelson pub and the charming Humpty Dumpty Brewery.

The village is also the place to stop if you want to enjoy the best inland fish and chips on the broads. Locals love the village chippy, which serves fresh fried local fish and delicious hand cut chips. Once you’ve eaten, Reedham has a wealth of delights for you to explore, from the Pettits animal park, where kids can enjoy amusements, rides, and – of course – the chance to get up close and personal with alpacas, owls, meerkats, lemurs and reptiles.

Reedham has a railway station which serves both Norwich and Lowestoft, making it a great place from which to head out on a daytrip or to stock up on supplies. Refueling is also possible, making Reedham the perfect combination of unspoilt Norfolk village and delightful tourist centre.

Reedham is perfect for a dinner-stop if you’re heading south from Oulton Broad, and is also a great place to moor up for the night. Recharge your batteries with some delicious Fish and Chips, then take the kids to the animal park!
